Agit-Cirk & Makeshift Company: Ghost Town

Agit-Cirk & Makeshift Company: Ghost Town

An exhilarating piece about the end

Life’s repeating patterns become untethered as the end approaches, but can we escape by breaking out of the loop? Or should we follow the road to its natural conclusion?

Taking the audience on a journey from a broken-down car in the middle of the desert to an unexpected climax, Ghost Town combines circus, dance, media art and live foley, with world renown collaborators: Heikki Kossi, Jessica Hung Han Yun, Emma Lister, Sakari Männistö, Aku Meriläinen, Emmi Pennanen and Alice Williamson.

Ghost Town is divided into three sections:

Preshow: 90 min, enter when you want.
Performance: 80 min, showtime at 19:00 or at 14:00 (don’t be late!)
Postshow: 30 min, stay as long as you want.

The performance consists of three parts: The preshow is 90 minutes and you can enter when ever you want. Audience is free to move and talk during the pre-show in the installationlike space and the bar is open. Performance itself happens in Cirko’s hall, where audience will be seated. Like the pre-show, the postshow will be installationlike and take its place in same place as the first.

There is an an audience discussion after performance on 23 March.

You are free to take pictures on preshow and postshow but not during the performance.

Sensory-friendly performance

Daytime performance on Saturday, 19 March is sensory-friendly. E.g. the intensity of lighting and sound effects will be reduced during the performance, and lights remain on at a low level, rather than completely off. The performance is also fragrance-free so please be considerate of other audience members. Environmental adjustments as well as alterations to the performance will be made, but participation is at one’s own risk.

Visitors are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance. There will be more guidance provided during the performance. It’s possible to come and visit Cirko before the performance: You can contact production assistant Kaisa Hietanen, kaisa.hietanen@cirko.fi tai tai 0504966560.
