Cirko – Center for New Circus

Cirko – Center for New Circus is the most prominent contemporary circus development center and presenter in Finland. Annually about 30 professional companies and 150 circus artists work in Cirko’s performance and residency programmes. Cirko is based in the Suvilahti area of Helsinki next to the historical gasometers in an A-listed building that is over one hundred years old. The building houses two circus spaces and consists of a total of 1400 square meters of rehearsal, stage and office space.

Cirko’s performance programme presents the best of Finnish and international contemporary circus, entertains the entire family with the CirkOtus programme and offers a variety of guest performances. In addition to the performance programme, Cirko also co-produces and distributes Finnish contemporary circus pieces.
