PYYKKI – Lost in Laundryland is a captivating new performance for children and families by the Finnish contemporary circus company Portmanteau. Created in collaboration with award-winning visual artist Helga Stentzel, the show invites audiences into the imaginative and magical realm of “Household Surrealism.”
PYYKKI – Lost in Laundryland uncovers the magic hidden in the mundane, using optical illusions to transform everyday objects and clothing into playful characters and animals. The performance seamlessly combines circus, dance, puppetry, and innovative magic to create a delightful and unforgettable experience.
Portmanteau is dedicated to multidisciplinary creations that explore the dialogue between circus and other art forms. The company was honored with the Sirkuksen Lumo Award in 2018 for its contributions to promoting Finnish circus arts and was nominated in 2021 for the Outstanding Emerging Company category at the International Circus Awards.
