Stage – Suvilahti Summer Theatre: Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin goes ROOTS

The shows of Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin are an extravaganza of modern grooves and dance. This international troupe is distinctly energetic, forthright and acutely visual.

Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin goes ROOTS offers an eccentric cocktail of African American horn music tradition and flamenco rhythms. ROOTS goes back to the core of its influences that range from the legacy of decadent Finnish poets such as Pentti Saarikoski to excerpts from the company’s earlier show KILL Carmen.

On stage, Roni and Kaari Martin will be joined by the multi-wind instrumentalist Samppa Leino and percussionist Mamba Assefa, who are well-known for their appearances in a variety of musical settings ranging from rock to jazz and classical music.
