Makeshift Company: Insomniac's Fable
Insomniac’s Fable is a wordless, narrative performance combining circus, dance and visual art. Performed by circus artist Sakari Männistö and dancer Emma Lister, with specially commissioned woodcuts from Ravenstongue, it is an intimate theatre piece exploring the nature of reality, dreams and the theme of love versus obsession.
The story charts Polyboy’s unrequited love for Polygirl. After struggling to fall asleep he enters a dreamlike state where his fantasy has come true: Polygirl loves him. But the dream begins to twist into a nightmare. Falling into a dream within a dream, Polyboy finds himself lost in a forest, in danger of never finding his way out or waking.
